The Voice of the Cobalt Industry
Cobalt is an essential element for many applications that are important to today’s society. As such, cobalt contributes greatly to the general quality of life for humans and to guaranteeing a sustainable future.
Driving this future is the Cobalt Institute (CI).
As the voice of the cobalt industry, the CI is dedicated to promoting the sustainable and responsible production and use of cobalt in all its forms. For the last 60 years, the organisation has helped cobalt producers and users answer the sustainability concerns of their customers. It also acts as a knowledge center on all cobalt-related topics for governments, agencies, industry, academia, the media and civil society.
The Cobalt Institute is a member-based not-for-profit organization, with membership open to every stage of the cobalt supply chain – including producers, users, recyclers and traders. It currently represents around 70% of cobalt produced worldwide.
